Job Title Workplace Survey
Territory Telephone Account Manager My job is a diversified job. Basically, everyday, I am required to liase with resellers of our product "ADSL broadband" and I am the first point of contact for our resellers. I manage the resellers in the Western Australia, Queensland and Victorian states in Australia and my goal is to increase Sales for the company through assisting their needs. Working for this company is great! I had joined on the 15th of March, as an administration call centre type role and had been transferred to the Channel Sales department within 7 months. In the call centre, the salary started at $24K AUD, and rose to $30KAUD. The wardrobe was corporate, except on Fridays, where its "Casual Friday" and we can wear what we want. The overall work culture is a fresh, bubbly one where on occasions, our colleagues would get together and the company would take us to bowling and special functions like Christmas Dinner by Luna Park, Sydney in Milson's Point. Every casual Friday, we either have "Stolley Trolley", where our colleagues would be provided with free alcoholic/ or non-alcoholic beverages and have a chance to talk with each other after work, or in the morning, have a balcony lunch, since we are on the top levels of the "People Telecom Building". The call centre hours when I was there were in shift format from 8:30am to 6:30pm. Since I had transferred over, they have extended the hours from 8am to 8pm. Our company mission was "Talk to People", but since the new website launch on the 1st of March, it is now "It's All About You!". We strive to maintain great relationships to customers and other stakeholders. That is our product differentiation, superior customer service! The working hours I have now, are different to the call centre. It is a 8am - 5pm sort and lunch is one hour. Sometimes, if I have to work late, then my company would provide me with a cabcharge to claim on expenses. The company also allow some of us to have VPN access to work from home. There are several opportunities for advancement. Essentially, the call centre is a starting point. Whenever there is a vacancy in other departments, an organisation wide email would go around as internal recruitment and anyone may apply. If no one is a suitable candidate, our company would broadcast the vacancy externally. Overall, my company, People Telecom is one of the best office environment around with friendly staff and a great colleague to colleague relationship! It is forever buzzing with excitement and everyday is a whole new experience.
