PB employs around 9,000, but my comments will relate to the New York
office only.
The corporate culture at PB is very diverse. Numerous nationalities are
represented from places such as Korea, Russia, England, Hong Kong,
Australia, Croatia, etc. The culture is very accepting of others and
large mega-projects are performed under strong leadership.
The hours of work are from 8:30-5:15 but are flexible with permission
from a manager. There are several individuals who have worked for the
company for over 50 years, showing dedication and job satisfaction.
The dress code is typically business (shirt and tie) but during the
summer dispensation is given to where slacks and a a collared shirt.
There are opportunitities to advance. PB has a mentoring program as
well as opportunities to step into leadership in areas such as
Toastmasters.
This is an excellent company to work for. The projects are
international and meaningful - my work relates to fire life safety with
numerous employees that have been with the firm for over 30 years.
Many of the managers are heavily involved in standards setting
committees such as found with the National Fire Protection Association
and the American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
Engineers.
