Overall, PRTM is a great place to work. The 4:1 Partner to Staff ratio
makes it a close knit environment. The partners work directly with the
consultants on projects and that allows you to personally bond. This is
far different from the experiences of some of my friends who work at
other firms. They really aren't as connected to the Senior Leaders of
the firm as most of us at PRTM. I've worked day-to-day with seven
different partners over the last four years. This close knit
environment
really makes it easy to find your place in the firm and to give you a
voice in your development. The parnters know you as a person and
therefore are in a better position to respect your interests and
desires.
The project work is also challenging and well balanced. It's a nice
blend between strategy and implementation. Many of us actually get to
see projects through the entire life-cycle. Thus you get to implement
your own ideas and see how the whole project matures from start to
finish. It's a very fulfilling approach. At the strategy firms you come
up with great ideas but leave it to others to take action against those
ideas. At PRTM it's more likely that you will have to back up your
ideas
with real action.
All in all, a great place to work for those who are results oriented,
like the pace and challenge of consulting but also want to be respected
and know their place and value in the firm. If you can get into PRTM,
and it's not easy, go for it.
