Business is strong at PRTM this year. Most of my friends have been
fully
chargeable with a constant shortage of staff. I haven't been on the
beach for even a day in the last eighteen months.
Things got a little slow at PRTM the last couple of years, but no where
near as bad as some of the bigger firms. Many of my Bschool friends
reallty sweated out the last couple of years. While it wasn't all fun
at
PRTM, it never really got that dire. There was always work coming in ot
the firm and many of the projects were really interesting.
PRTM also made sure they held on to the best folks by offering bonuses
and selective other benefits. We lost some good consultants along the
way, but most of my peers that I really respect are still here at PRTM.
PRTM is also expanding into a lot of new industries and service areas.
The old "High Tech" only focus is going away and the partners seem to
be
more interested in spreading the business around to other lucrative
industries. It's funny since many of my friends who didn't consider
PRTM, because of the "High Tech" only thing are puzzled by some of the
projects that I work on these days. It's almost like ... if they knew
that they would have pursued PRTM more aggressively. We still don't
work
for Banks or government, and most of the work is High Tech, but
consumer
products, financial services and other complex industries are now
growing parts of PRTM's business.
