Actually I worked from 5/1984 to 8/1992. It is the oldest oil company in
India and has many achievements in its history of operations. It has an
oilfield over 100 years old, still operating , though with limited
production.The company has a tradition of rewarding performers and
recognise the need for providing opprtunities to all, without any
discrimination. It imbibes a spirit of oneness among the employees and
make everyone feel proud to be an Oil Indian first then an Indian . In
spite of its location in one corner of the country , it has spread its
wings far and wide , to make it internationally known. It is a pleasure
to any stranger when he enters the Head Qauarter to see the motif of the
company which reads " Reaching Deep, Spreading Wide, Aiming High " true
to the spirit with which it operates. It reaches deep because it has
entered in new deep offshore areas for oil exploration, it spreads wide
from its starting location to other areas of the country and
internationally and it aims high to achieve higher goals.
I always used to feel proud to be associated with this organisation and
the privilege extended to me to contribute in my humble way.I was
encouraged to write papers on the company's projects some of which were
published in many American Oil, Gas, Pipeline and Power related
magazines. I was always appreciated for such achievements.
Today, in my days of setting sun , as I look back , I feel a sense of
great satisfaction and extend heartfelt thanks for the opportunity to be
an Oil Indian.
