I found ohio casualty grp enjoyable to work for until they transferred a
another supv from another office. this supv brought down morale quite a
bit. all employees in the office complained to home office human
resources. they addressed the numerous issues, but over time, this did
not accomplish better relations. Until ohio casualty reduced its work
force was her position eliminated. unfortunately, all the people in her
unit were also displaced.
Ohio casualty grp tried to maintain corporate culture. recently they
eliminated positions to reduce expenses. o c g consolidated the entire
underwriting staff in home office causing employees in all branch
offices to be eliminated. then in claims, half the employees were
reduced. o c g let go all ranks, supervisors, managers, claim reps, and
clerks regardless of time with company.
Change of management earlier in the prior year also caused numerous
changes in reporting, working procedures and accountablility
work hours generally are flexible depending on the vice pres of the
branch office
dress code was business casual
opportunities for advancement were rare.
Also, i worked another co workers pending files while co worker was on
maternity leave. while phone calls and work increased, was able to
reduce co workers pending.
There was no compensation, thank you or otherwise upon co workers return
to work and upon retaining their own files. there was no assisatance in
regaining control of my own files and immediately started on receiving
new claims to investigate
