| Corporate Account Manager-Home Care West |
The corporate culture at Novartis is very professional and positive.
All employees are expected to go through business ethics and legal
training. Novartis employees practice the "FISH" philosophy. We
believe in having fun, being there for our customers, and providing a
positive work environment.
Employees are also expected to understand their products. Several times
a year we are asked to take a course on Blackboard.com and complete a
knowledge assessment. All employees are expected to acheive an 85%
score or better.
The diversity is apparent, by hiring many woman, different backgrounds
(i.e. clinical, business, sales experience), and abilities. When I was
hired in 1995 I was six weeks pregnant and the company willingly hired
me and picked up my insurance. This was unheard of at the time, as in
most sales organizations I have been associated with it was taboo to
have a pregnant sales person.
In the field you work out of your home so you set your own hours. Key
performance indicators are set for field sales reps which they must
achieve on their own schedule. As a corporate accounts manager I am not
in the field everyday, but do work long hours and travel often.
Dress code in the field depending on the customer is either business or
business casual.
There are alway opportunities for advancement at Novartis. We are
growing rapidly and openings and new position occur several times per
year. I have received two promotions in the last 3 years.
