The current package is a straight draw situation. This means they are
extending
the courtesy of "Lending" you your money against future sales. The rate
is now
$9.80 hour. It was $7.65 until last month. However, the sales per hour
has
almost
doubled. That means you are less likely to cut into the commission rate
of 6.7%.
If you just make draw, the difference in pay, all things being equal, is
about
$50.00. There will be numerous contests however, it is up to you to
pursue
getting these additional bonus amounts. There is an unwritten quota to
open up
Norstrom charge accounts. If the customer spends $100. on the day you
open the
account with them, you get $5.00. The store does not mention that this
$5. is
taxable and shows up as income on your next check. Therefore, you spend
1/2 hour
getting credit approval and that translates to $3.80 net. You can spend
1/2 hour
and NOT get the customer approved. For that service, you get nothing,
but you
are
still expected to make the sales per hour for those periods. There is a
401K
plan,
that until this month, was invested with Putnam Investment. They were
cited by
the SEC and MA. for fraud. Our investments in this plan has lost money
in the
last 1 1/2 years.
You do not get any paid time off until they tell you that you are
eligible. I
had asked about this so many times, with vaque answers as a response.
You can
obtain health insurance but the plan is very expensive and very limited.
met
life
now overseas these insurance needs for diability or leaves. They are
restrictive
in the scope. No signing bonus. If you do a hand carry, or need to go to
another
store to collect something your customer needs, you are reimbursed for
the
milage, not the time. It is based on the milage and does not include the
distance
to the store. Therefore, if you live 30 miles away from the store and are
driving
to the store to pick up something to take to a customer near your home,
you get
paid for one way.
The last time I did a hand carry, they were going tor eimburse me so
little even
though it took over two hours to accomplish because my customer is
disabled and
wanted to try on the items, they were going to pay me $7.25 for my
milage. I
chose to not turn in the paper work for the money. I know it makes HR
very upset
not to have the completed paperwork, so I admit to being passive
aggressive and
causing them to have the item as open. It was worth the $7.25 to have
them
aggrevated.
