Newton-Wellesley Hospital is a health care facility that is definitely
on its way up in terms of market share, customer satisfaction, and
development of a positive excellence-driven corporate culture.
Newton-Wellesley has achieved notoriety as one of the Top 100
Hospitals in the US for the past two years. Only one another
hospital (within our category) has this designation in the entire
state of Massachusetts.It is a competitive employer in terms of
financial compensation and offers excellent health care and
retirement benefits.
The Hospital has invested a great deal of money and energy within
the past 3 years in developing managerial staff by providing access
to highly regarded organizational development opportunities. Unlike
many institutions, there appears to be the hope that this investment
will have a trickle down effect and benefit lower eschelon
employees. Unfortunately, this has not been the case. It doen's go
unnoticed, for example, that while mangers are treated to lobster
dinners at a plus retreat center, the rest of us have an annual hot
dog and hamburger cook-out on the lawn. Administration could
make more investments that directly benefit all employees and not
just those at the top. However, the stability of working for an
employer that is good and getting better does make up for these
oversights to a degree.
