NCR has been around for over 100 years - with an annual revenue figure
in 2002-03 of $7.2billion and a history which dates bacxk to 1901 the
company is well established.
The current industry climate has seen a reduction the amount of revenue
generated through direct service provision such as IT maintenance and
this has been taken on board by NCR. The changes have been reflected in
a more streamlined organisation with a focus more on long term
relationships with clients that cross the full range of services
provided by NCR - from repoting to CRM, Data warehousing, Servicing,
call centre management, to outrsourcing.
On the question of employee morale - in times of downturns in business
employee morale always takes a hit - no matter what company you are in -
you only have to look at examples such as Arthur Anderson, Worldcom,
IBM, all companies where either business downturns or internal financial
scandle rocked employee morale - NCR is no different in that respect
after all we are only human.
The one thing that stands out at NCR that the employees believe in the
comnpany and that even though its tough now - we will come back and yes
its hard to keep upbeat but they knuckle down and get on with it - both
staff and management alike.
