There is no personnel person in Charlotte (part of budget cuts). So
you've basically got to know someone to get your resume in front of the
right person.
These days, most full-time positions are filled from the freelance ranks
(writers, producers, editors).
Network shows are no longer produced in Charlotte but staff keeps hoping
for a return someday.
There is no standard interview/hiring process since there is no HR
person making sure things are done fairly/legally.
Again, it's important to know that working here is like working at a
factory in another industry. We all work on an assembly line doing our
part. Some days that's great, some days that's not.
In your interview stress your writing skills. Writing gets a lot of
lip service from management. However, in reality, your scripts will
not reflect your true ability because you will write scripts with little
information and facts (very hard to get affiliates to provide info for
your scripts).
