Morgan Stanley is fairly well positioned in the brokerage world. They
have largely managed to stay above the fray in all of the scandals of
the last several years. The leadership is strong and takes a
conservative, fast follower approach to innovation. Consequently,
they are often a tad behind on product offerings and systems, and have
trouble changing directions quickly due to the extensive size of the
workforce. Nevertheless, they seem to get it right more often than
not. The big concern is what happens as the financial services
companies continue consolidating and they do not have a complete
personal banking solution.
