Placement Coordinator	We were a child welfare agency with a diverse population of caseworkers black,white, hispanic)The hours were maily 8:30pm to 5pm but that was not always the case if you were a line caseworker as if there was an emergency on one of your cases you could be working until evening hours like 10-11pm at night. The same was for the Placememnt Coordinators which was the last position I held before leaving. We were at the job until all foster homes were found for children who had come into foster care that day even if it meant working hours overtime. The dress code was business casual. Opportunities for advancement were slim as there were so many people in middle management who had been with the agency 15 plus years who were waiting to get their 25-30 years in for retirement. The men at the agency were treated like gold, get paid more than the women and would get most of the promotions as men in the social work field are hard to find and to keep. The management did not support its workers and their concerns of oversized cases loads, late hours, un cooperative foster parents that it caused bitterness between workers and management.
