I started at about $48,000 with a $6,000 starting bonus. I got a little
higher
than some other new hires because I had an MA.
After one year I got about a 10% raise and 10% bonus, which was
considered very
good in the economic environment at that time (many people got neither
raises
nor
bonuses)
Typical benefits include full health coverage and gym membership.
Another benefit extended to some consultants is to get a share of the
firm's
commerical banking and investment activities. I'm not sure how this
works
because it only goes to people more senior than I am.
Another thing to consider if you like to live in comfort is that Monitor
(at
least in Asia) makes a big deal about making most people fly economy on
most
occasions and using 2nd tier business hotels. This is all in the name of
"providing client value" by lowering billing levels.
