Class of 1997 making $180,000 base. Bonuses are unclear and vary considerably
based on the economic health of the firm. If you work on a large case, put in a
ton of hours (I did in excess of 3000 over an 11 month period) and get excellent
reviews, you are not guaranteed any bonus. Bonuses are political and those
working for "well connected" parters will fare better.
Compensation at the first year level equals other firms in town (125 as of
1/05). Compensation is less than market as you progress through the ranks an is
as much as 30-40k below other firms at the 6-8 year mark.
Expectation for the number of hours worked does not differ from other firms.
The firm is unsupportive of the business generation efforts of its associates and
provides no creditable time for such efforts or guidance on how to best approach
these issues.
