I had turned in an application and called about a week later to follow
up. The man I spoke with (a consultant) was very friendly, said they
were hiring and that I should come in and speak with the manager that
evening. I came in (embarassingly underdressed, but friendly and
energetic!) and asked for the manager. He was really easy going and
friendly and he put me very much at ease. He told me about the company,
asked me a few basic questions about customer service and teamwork, and
then had the assistant manager come and interview me. He was a little
more intimidating, but still really friendly. He asked me a lot of
similar questions, things like "What part do you think you would play
in a team environment?" and "What's your idea of good customer
service?". About a week after my interview (which I felt went pretty
well) I got a call from the manager saying they'd love to have me on
board, and I'd just need to meet with the district manager to finalize
some things. I made an appointment to meet with him, and he ended up
interviewing me as well, and then said he liked what I'd had to say and
he'd get back to me in a few days, which was confusing, because I had
thought I already had the job. But he did call in 2 or 3 days to tell
me I was hired, and then I started about a week and a half later.
