I had the opportunity to go to work for Mead, so I took it. They put me on 12
hour shifts at the start. I had to have surgery on my hands
because of the long hours on a machine I was not used to. Then 31/2
years later they came in and told us we didn't have a job any
longer. They had bought a plant overseas, another school and office
products plant. I took a lot of pride in my job and strived to be the
best at it, now I have nothing. My family suffered because of the long
hours I was away. Then,instead of a severance pkg,we got a supplemental
pension pkg. I felt like I had been slapped in the face for all my
long, hard work. I think companies need to think about what their
employees have to give up just to go to work for them,before they take
our jobs and outsource them for cheaper labor. Keep our American dollars
here, or we won't be able to afford your product.This will be the fall
of the good old U.S.A.
