Inside Marks Paneth, one's fate is dependent on the partner who hired
him/her. The partners make the rules as they pleased. They can suck
you dry. For example, the former communication employee was fired the
day after she organized the annual Christmas party. Firing right after
the tax season, without just cause in some cases, is a very common
practice. There is no overtime pay during the 70-80 hours work during
the tax season. The firm does not expect any loyality from its
employees and thus does not invest in them. It will take what it can
from the employee and expect employees to leave. The firm has two
sides: Marks Shron and Paneth sides. The former group has quick and
dirty approach to its work. For the juniors right out of school, a year
or two is good. Almost no opportunities for advancement in most
instances since it is the top heavy firm. It has 50+ partners, and 200+
professional staffs.
