I was so happy when I got the internship position at MTV. I really like
working there. Everyone is friendly, the offices are decorated in
very "MTV" decor (very colorful and cheery). You can hear music all over
the place and everyone's office is decorated, kind of like dorm room
style in college. The people are great to work with and everyone is so
helpful and easygoing. The Miami office holds MTV Latin America, so
there are people from all over Latin America working there, Brazil,
Argentina, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Chile... all over. The
dress code is casual, I go dressed as if I was going to school - hwich
is great because I am not big on the business casual look. I just
recently started the internship at MTV, so as far as advancing and how
to, there is no like ste way. You just have to be persistent, work hard
(especially at multi-tasking), and be a good perosn to work with cause
that what they like. I know that most interns at the Latin America
office start as interns and then move on to temp work or floater, which
the people I have met that have had those positions have current jobs at
MTV. And I have also met about 5 people that started off as interns in
various departments and are working there right now. So an internship or
temp work is definetely the way to go!
