LU is trying hard to come out first out of the Telecom industry slam.
These days projects are not being canceled, they are being off-shored to
APAC and Europe. Some of this activity will definitely backfire due to
unpredictable quality and problems with project management. There are
also Intellectual Property issues that will be raised. Before the age of
outsourcing industrial spies had to come to us. Now we are sending R&D
and IPR to them (and paying them too!). Our products are being installed
by our customers in thir networks. These networks are serving different
subscribers, including the US Government. At some point the US Government
will wake up and demand that R&D and production of the products utilized
by the Government be done in the US (or friendly countries).It will take
an Enron-type case to get to that point, but it will get there...
