starting salary offered at $28,000 per year and I negotiated to $30,000
per
year. Salary increases were once per year and based partly on
evaluations. I
received an increase to $32,000 within 1 year and ended up at $40,000
after 3
1/2
years. No bonuses at assistant level only at associate and general
level. I
attained associate level but I was in a catering operation 5 days a week
and was
given a $500 per month vehicle allowance to transport food instead.
Standard 2 weeks paid vacation starting and 3 weeks after 5 years. Health
insurance, dental, life insurance, disability, 401k options (paid by me)
and
retirement plan (paid by them).
Associate and General managers started with base of $40,000 or $60,000
(respectively) and bonuses based on store performance vs. previous year
and
controlling of store costs.The base was paid once per month and bonus
was once
per month. This was changed in 2001 to base of $15,000 each with larger
bonus
potential and each was paid twice per month. This meant much smaller
checks.
