After twenty years of experience as a manufacturing engineer and a
senior position, $52,000/year. New hire are getting $40,000 or so for
engineering positions. 15 days of vacation/year (after ten years, 5
days after one year) and 10 holidays. Fair medical bennies with
significant employee contribution. Dental is cost effective only for
kids with braces. Sick time scheduled like personal days off by
management but heavily criticised for individual contributors. Lots of
useless "quality of life" services that nobody uses anyway. Lay offs
announced at the drop of a hat and then dragged out over months to
maximize the agony.
