Lockheed Martin is a huge bureaucracy. Pay tends to be low on the
workers side and wildly high on senior management. Anyone who thinks a
company like this is run for the benefit of the stockholders is grossly
mistaken. Hiring is for the cheapest possible candidate. The lower a
candidate starts, the less his/her raises will be throughout his.her
carreer. Hiring from within is mostly be the buddy system. LM has all
of the politically correct programs in place, but practice is quite
another thing. When a top manager steals millions from a government or
takes millions in bribes, he's let off with a slap on the wrist and
every normal employee, who would never have the opportunity to steal on
this magnitude, gets a couple of hours of training. A
useless "ombudsman" is appointed who hasn't a clue and is never used.
Any whistleblowing on unethical practices results in the demoting and
resignation of the whistleblower and the promotion of the thief. It's a
great place to work if you're a top manager.
