I interviewed first with the Program Director (at the time Kipper McGee)
I then came back in to meet with the morning show that I would do news
for. I was interviewing for a post that Jack Smith was retiring from
(Yes Retiring from Radio!) He retired with his radio pension and
retirement plan, over the age of 60!
It took awhile to get in the door because they really wanted
the "right" person for the position. I honestly don't know how many
people they interviewed for the position.
I started parttime and was trained by the retiring News Director himself
I was hired fulltime in October as News & Public Affairs Director for
the four station group in San Diego KSON/KIFM/KBZT and Radio Disney.
I don't remember specific questions, it was more about finding out
about me and my personality.
