I secured my full time position after interviewing for, and completing
a summer internship. Each year, Lehman has put more and more emphasis
on hiring from their Summer MBA pool, and now I understand that the
firm rarely interviews on campus for full time associates, as they
typically hire completely from the summer associates. I had two rounds
of interviews, the first time with 2 people, the second time with 8
people. Everyone evaluates you, but I think if your focused and
understand the business you are joining, that the interviews are pretty
straight forward. Approximately 20 minutes each, and people wanted to
know more about my goals and direction than they did about "Net Present
Value" calculations. Typically, you will interview with associates
first. If they give you the thumbs up, you will go to the Sr. Managing
Director of the group who gives you the stamp of approval. If you get
that far, its a very good sign, so don't blow it.
