Hiring process involves scanning of CV's obtained from job consultants
and company's own website. There is a CV matching software used to sort
out CV's on the web. The software matched CV's are then manually
shortlisted by HR staff (who have the knowledge o technological
requirements for the projects in hand). The candidates are then called
on phone to see if they are interested in the job profile. If they are,
an appointment is taken for a telephonic technical screening. This
screening interview in taken by 2 technical persons, who are usually of
same level as the candidate. This is usually of very basic level. Once
the candidates are through with their screening interview, they are
again called by Hr staff and their expected salary figure is taken and
the candidate is invited for technical and HR interview. The technical
interview is taken by professionals in their technology. This
interviews usually 45 mins or so. Once the technical panel clears the
candidate, HR persons discuss certain concerns with the candidate
regarding the work culture and priorities, short and long term career
objectives of the candidate. Once everything is in place, the candidate
is offered an offer letter, usually giving him 30 days to 45 days time
to join. I remember a specific question where I was asked by the senior
panelist when he asked me if I were to become his boss and he didn't
agree with me on some matter, how will I handle the issue ? That was a
tricky question and I answered, "if you disagree with me because you
were once my boss, I won't try to make you agree; but if you disagree
with me on some work matter, I will agree with your disagreement and
merit would win and ego would lose!"
