My experience with the Larry H. Miller corporation was not a good one.
Managers never did their job and were not very responsible. I heard
high-ranking managers speak in profane language about customers(guests).
As I was preparing to give them my official two weeks notice I was told
that my hiar couldn't touch my ear...However the written dress code
policy states that hair can be mid-ear length. I pointed this out and
was told that the manager decided that he was making rule changes,
however these changes did not come into effect until January. I had
given them my notice and requested a last day of no later than Jan. 3
2004. Their policy also provides for a series of actions to be taken
place; the low-level managers(Team Leads) were required to give more
than one warning before threatening termination. I was spoken to only
once about this and that was on the day before i gave them my two week
notice (which i had been planning to do all along). They told me not to
bother coming into work unless I got my hair cut so that it wasn't
touching my ear I said this is not your policy. They were paying no
attention to their official dress code policy and continued with the
original threat of termination. When I complained about this I was
treated disrespectfully by several managers, one of which was saying i
said things that i didn't say when talking to another manager. When I
asked for a number to have my lawyer call they refused to provide me
with one, and once again were extremely disrespectful. I would strongly
advise against applying for any position at this corrupt corporation.
