I see this particular brokerage as losing ground. For many years, this
company was number one in our area. However, innovative brokerages are
sprouting up, offering more competetive rates to sellers--such as flat
listing fees. Despite the decrease in services from these new
brokerages, it appears that the seller's bottom line is cost.
Therefore, traditional brokerages such as my own are losing market
share. I am noticing more out of the area companies coming into our
market...they are allowed to cut their commission rates, while my
company typically will not allow it. If we cannot be competetive with
them, we will continue to lose market share. On the other hand I still
believe are services are invaluable and worth the money we are being
paid.
