Kelly divides its services into divisions (Kelly Financial deals solely
with accountants, etc.; Kelly Scientific with scientists...). Each
division has only 2-10 people. Work culture is very unique - because of
these smaller divisions that are all housed within the same building you
get a mix of small-company and well as large. Very laid back in regards
to completing personal errands, time off, etc., but highly focused on
bottom line and market share appreciation. Kelly fits the overall
profile of the staffing industry being very "inbred" - almost all who
work there are very interconnected with other individuals from the
competition in some way (everyone knows what everyone else has or is
doing). Company as a whole is one of the most frugal in industry -
marketing, advertising, recruiting, etc. budgets all face highly
constrained parameters. As with the entire industry, Kelly has a large
amount of turnover so opportunity for "advancement" is high in regards
to a parallel move to other locations. However, trying to actually move
up is much more difficult since the positions involve either being a
salesperson/recruiter, or heading an entire division. Training is
exceptional - online/virtual as well as phone/internet based and in-
person at corporate. Thoroughly cover everything you need to know.
