As audit manager in Minneapolis I was making approximately $60,000,
which was just average for that level of work at that time. New starts
that enter the firm are typically started at the same salary as everyone
else... any material differentiation of salaries only occurs once
you've been in the firm for a while. Your job rating each year is a
significant factor, but if you transfer between regions or practices,
you can wind up getting ahead of the pack.
Current salary for MAS manager in NYC is approximately $95,000. Bonuses
can range from 0 to 20% of salary, again dependent on your performance,
but for F2002, essentially no bonuses were given firmwide due to the
poor results for the year. Firm results and profitability are a much
larger factor in what bonus you receive than your individual
performance. Also, when your bonus is given, there is no stated
rationale behind it being 10% or 20%... you just have to go on the
stated strengths, weaknesses, and overall rating they give you to figure
out how to do better in the future.
