For the FRM group, things are looking strong. Sarbanes Oxley is keeping
everyone as busy as they want to be. In the longer term KPMG will have
to convert SOX clients into customers who are paying for other services.
There is a strong initiative and a good vision for doing just that.
The tax side of the firm has had some public stress. Search Google for
KPMG and "tax schemes"
Audit seems to be doing pretty well but audit is much more of a
commodity than other biz services. Margins there are much lower.
The forensics group has been weakened over the years. It is hard to have
a forensics group in a big 4 firm because of the frequent conflicts of
interest that pop up.
