I have enjoyed my experience at JH. While there is a dress code, it
is"business causal." Basically, while you must dress nicely, you don't
have to break the bank buying suits, etc. The people are diverse , open-
minded and my experience with management has been nothing but positive.
Since the time that I was hired in 2000, things seem to have changed
dramatically. Initially, I was hired as a Customer Service rep, with
the understanding that there was tremendous growth potential. While
there was room to move, after the IPO things really started to freeze
up. Departments suddenly didn't have the budgets to hire new people...
I have been dissapointed at the direction the company has taken since
I first was hired. Once the company went public, the focus on employee
satisfaction seemed to go to the back burner. Now, with the
announcement that JH plans to merge with Manulife Financial, I am quite
concerned with job security (if there is such a thing). I, and many of
my co-workers, feel as though we are just waiting around for our pink-
slips.
