The consumer electronics industry is/has been depressed for the past
three years, with no immediate relief in sight. The industry, usually
runs six months behind the economic curve. JVC is not a leader in
market share, and probably will never be, although some roducts are
innovative. Consumer electronics become luxuies in troubled economic
times.
Morale is as good as it can be, under the circumstances. People are
grateful to have a job. Pay increases averaged 2%, this year, and 1%
last year.
I would avoid employment in this industry, especially, if you are
considering a mid-career change. Someone just entering the work force
may want to gain some experience, but should avoid a long term
arrangement.
