When I left my position I was receiving a base salary plus a percentage
of each
closing for our team. I was paid for every open house I held and
reimbursed for
my mileage and expenses. When I was hired, my employers paid for me to
get my
real estate license and they paid for my continuing education throughout
my time
of employment. I did not have to provide my own computer or any supplies
even
though I was technically considered an independent contractor and not an
"employee". They, therefore, did not take taxes out of my paychecks. I
was
responsible for making all of my own state and federal state and federal
quarterly estimate tax payments.
