We are international semicondutor industry, so very diverse in work
hours and dress code. Professional dress for offic people and casual
for manufacturing areas. We are open 24 hrs a day 7 days aweek and 365
days a year. Manufacturing is on a 4 shift schedule A,B,C&D they work 5
10 hour days then get 2 days off, work 2 10 hour days and then get 5
off. It is a grat work schedule it is called a 5-2-2-5 schedule. We
get two hours of over time every day we work so it averages out to 35
hours a week. We are in a constant mode of budget cuts. They have over
30 plants world wide some are subcontractors and some are sub-dividions
of the mother company. We are certified for automotive sales, computer
products and home appliances there are over 6500 products made by IR.
We have a wide span of cultures I can see no descrimination.
Opportunity for advancement is there just hard to get sometimes, let say
you are qualified but have no degree, you have worked for the company 10
to 15 even 20 years, more than likely they will hire from outside and
you the unschooled person will train this supposedly more quailified
person. I like my job most of the time, I don't think it is fare always
but I think that is just the way industry is now a days. Very
competetive wages
