Director If IFC can continue to re-invent itself and see itself less as an arm of the World Bank, it can remain relevant. Otherwise, obsolescence is a real threat. Other private sector players (e.g., major commercial banks, private equity houses, foundations) are looking to fill the leadership vacuum. Similarly the concept of client service is catching on very slowly. As the lender/investor of last resort, this has never been a priority. The place is in an almost constant state of re-organization, made worse at present by the domestic US political situation. The outcome of the election will almost certainly result in a change of the World Bank President with a likely "knock-on" effect for IFC.
