Income tax examiner Conduct reviews on samples of individual income tax returns after processing by Code and Edit dept.. Communicate deficiencies to tax examiners as reviewed. As needed, code, edit, screen, and input personal income tax returns for posting to master file. Initiate correspondence with taxpayers. Instruct new and returning taxpayers. Perform administrative duties as needed, including, but not limited to maintaining manual updates and informing tax examiners of procedural changes. The corporate culture is relative to a civil service climate. It is a governmental agency that provides a service to the public. It is an extremely diverse population of employees. The hours are flexible. There is a night shift and a day shift. each shift has a twelve hour span, and employees are allowed to flex their shift. There are also 4- 10 hr. shifts, and a 5-4/9 shift. The 5-4/9 shift allows employees to work 9 hour shifts for 8 out of 10 shifts in a pay period, one 8 hour shift, and one day off. The dress code is casual as long as you are not working directly with the public. We are primarily, a behind the scenes operation. There are opportunities for advancement. There are grade levels. Once you have worked in a grade level for at least a year, you arre eligible to apply for a job at the next grade level.
