There are 2 interview session, the first one will be a more HR type of
interview where question will be asked basically from your interest,
EQ, what subjects did you take when you are in college, what is your
final year project (explain in brief), some IQ questions, some weird
questions like (are you still single or attached?) they want to see the
reaction on your face, your strengths and weaknesses (This a very
important question, they want to try to evaluate how well you can judge
yourself and what are your real inner strengths compared to otehr
candidates). That is all I can remembered from the first interview. It
is a very short interview, 30 minutes or so.
The second interview is much more serious, you will be flooded with all
kinds of technical questions. But it really depends on the position you
applied for. For my case, those questions are related to:
1. Computer architechure (an overview of a processor on a motherboard)
2. Internal design of a CPU (how does a CPU look from the inside,
meaning how's the cache connected to the ALU, registers, bus, etc)
3. VLSI (CMOS design, TTL design, how to construct a SRAM/DRAM)
4. Digital logic design (XOR gates, boolean)
5. Assembly language
6. Different modes of a CPU, how well you know them. (32-bit mode,
legacy mode, 64-bit mode)
7. Your projects (They want to make sure you really participate in the
design and actual effort was really put into the project)
8. Last question is on your general knowledge of this company like what
is the latest Intel's processor, how long have you been using Intel and
stuffs like that.
