Atleast onething intel strongly believes in is that the processor business alone is not going to be enough. Just 3 years back, Intel announced that its major portion of revenue in the next 5 years would come from communication industry. But they ultimately closed down the division called communictions group. Now Intel is trying to get into digital home market. Probably the influence of huge success of products like Apple. But Intel has not really proved to be a success in anything apart from processor market. Until that happens, employees are going to keep their fingers crossed hoping that the management is taking the right decision to get some money from stock options. Salary has not really been a motiviating fact for intel employees.
