The hiring process consists of three seperate rounds. When you first
arrive, you are to fill out a paper application as well as a 'test'. The
test consists of questions you might see when testing for you MCSE or
NET+ certification. The test ranges from questions about how to
troubleshoot simple HTML and ASP coding to network protocol and the OSI
model.
You first meet with one of the support managers and they review your
test results. They as a few questions about your background and
experience. They are particularly impressed if you are able to list the
OSI model (at least from my experience). The first interview usually
lasts about a few minutes.
The second round is a phone interview. This interview is somewhat
critical as it is what your job basically entails. You spend 100% of you
time at Hostcentric on the phones, so having a good phone interview and
sounding confident in your abilities and accurately describe
instructions is imperitive.
The third round is a simple getting to know you as they are likely to
hire you. You meet with the operations manager and they again go over
your test results and your backround. This is also the stage where they
set their expectations of you as an employee and will notify you after
this meeting if you will receive an offer.
