Job Title Business Outlook Survey
Technical Support Analyst The web hosting industry is a very competitive enviroment. There are many companies which have other hosting companies as their host. This is called 'reselling'. Hostcentric heavily depends of 'resellers' and dedicated server managment customers, or 'gold' customers to generate income for them. Gold customers will purchase web domain names and server space from hostcentric and turn around and sell it to other small business. Hostcentric does not do any type of outsourced coding for its clients/customers. This can be somewhat difficult to explain to customers as they sometimes expect the web hosting company to tell them why their code does not work. Most of the time, it is due to custom code that programmers use. The clients will hire programmers to perform some contract work (for a small price), and will work well on their development server, but our production servers may not have all of the COM objects and other custom tags those programmers need to properly run their pages. If Hostcentric where to bundle web page building and custom coding with their hosting service, they could potentially expand its source for income/revenue.
