At The Home Depot there is a family culture of associates helping both
other associates and the customer. New ideas are always solicited from
the associate to become not only a leader in home improvement, but a
better place to work. Anyone has the ability to advance in their career,
as long as they apply their skills. With the increasing number of
stores, many people are moving into new positions, as well as new
departments being developed. The hours are a bit unusual as this is
retail, holidays are the best shopping days so everyone is expected to
help. The dress code is unlike most white collar positions, business
casual, including blue jeans, is the norm all the way through the
executive level. I've held similar positions in other industries and
companies, but this is the best.
