Specialty Sales Associate Home Depot used to be a good place to work. Now we have a new C.E.O. who is concerned only with the bottom line. As a result there are a minimum number of employees in the store. We are expected to do the same amount of work that was done by twice as many people. Customer service, which made Home Depot what it is, has deteriorated radically. Employees are no longer rewarded for good work. Yearly salary increases top out at about 3% for those employees that get very good reviews. There is very little promotion from within, except for the position of department supervisor. With this promotion comes an hourly monetary increase of $1.00, if you're lucky. All of the hourly employees are overworked, stressed and dissatisfied. Employee morale is at an all time low. The emphasis is no longer on customer service, but on how much you sell.
