Job Title Workplace Survey
CAD computer aided design Working at Hickey Freeman is incredibly frustrating. We are a very diverse company. The majority of the employess are from other countries such as, but not limited to, Ukraine, China, Japan, Laos, Korea, Spain, and Russia. There is a rotating shift so the majority of people work during the day 7 am to 3:30 pm. Second shift begins at 4 pm until 12:30 and lastly, the third shift begins at midnight. The dress code is professional attire; slacks and dress shirts and jeans are not allowed. When the company posts a new job posting, they always look for someone in house first. You can advance in the company but it takes several years before being able to move to the next level. The company has many union workers who rarely speak english. For this reason, amony others, the supervisors do not treat their employees well. There is a lot of verbal abuse and have also heard several sexual comments made to females. I do not feel that it is a good work environment. Unfortunately, for many, factory work is all they are qualified for.
