In general, I love working at Hewitt. I feel valued for my
contributions and see room for growth. The culture is still a bit too
concensus driven...everyone feels they have the power of veto. That can
be challenging--but I think it's getting better. Work/life balance has
ultimately been determined by my own decisions. After five years of
giving as much as I could, I now choose to have more balance (I now
have a daughter and don't want to work as much).
I feel that many people have been spoiled by all the perks companies
(especially Hewitt) have offered in the past. That spoiled attitude
often leads to poor productivity...even though the work itself hasn't
changed. There are a lot of whiners...but there are more people working
hard and trying to make a difference in the firm. The message board
doesn't give an accurate picture of how many good people work here.
