the health care business and located in Florida. The long term
prospects for the health care industry in Florida are excellent. The
primary customers are the elderly and the insurance companies and
Medicare are the primary sources of the funds collected at the
HealthFirst facilities. Because of this the company values it's
employees highly and goes all out to retain their services and to keep
them well trained. The company offers classes to all who are employeed
with HealthFirst. Personal crisis counseling is also offered if needed.
Per diem employees get paid higher wages but retain no benefits
package. HealthFirst is one of the largest health care providers in the
Southeast and their main competition in this area comes from the
HealthSouth and Humana health care networks. Because of this employees
are encouraged to transfer within the HealthFirst system instead of
quitting to go to another health care provider. Also, HealthFirst owns
buildings outside the surrounding area that hire part time and full
time empoloyees as well as per diem employees. Anyone can apply for
employment. A drug screening test is mandatory. The organization runs a
clean environment, and expects us all to help one another with keeping
our working areas clean for the next shift, as this organization is
operating 24 hours a day!! Some employees work 12 hour shifts and have
extra days off while other employees work a straight shift 5 days a
week! Every department is different! Support is always there for
everyone who walks in the door!
