Hallmark is a very good company to work for. The dress is business
casual, unless you are in the Creative division where it is much more
liberal. The Hall family may be billionaires, but they are the most
down to earth people you'd want to meet, very personable and definitely
hard working. They care about the success of the company and it makes
the employees care as well. Right now, there is little outside hiring,
but depending on how flexible you can be once you get in the door, the
opportunities to move up and around seem frequent. Hallmark is
sensitive to the working parent and allows some really good flexibility
when it comes to your work schedule - they expect results, but are
flexible on how you go about doing it. I'm often able to work from home
if I have a sick child or need to leave early for an appointment. The
headquarters is going through a much needed renovation and boasts a cafe
taht serves Starbucks - yea! Also, the employee cafeteria serves very
good food, though it can be a bit pricey. Benefits are excellent
including profit sharing and discounts on Hallmark product. My only
disappointment is the company match on 401K. Overall, Hallmark is a
great company and it is going to take an awfully sweet offer to pull me
away from the flexibility and autonomy I am provided.
