Overall, if you work for Hallmark in any capacity, do so on a temporary
basis until you can find something better. Even despite the salary
increases, the time you are budgeted (and it is STRICTLY enforced)is not
that good. A part-time job only as a Retail Merchandiser, you will
undoubtedly make at least $700/month. This is not good if your
expenditures are over $750/month, while paying rent, food, utilities,
car insurance and car payments at the same time. I would recommend that
you find a full-time job that gives you a real working wage at $850/mo.
or more to live on. Since Hallmark's earnings are supposed to go up 1%
in 2003, don't count on getting a portion of that in your salary. It's
not worth the trouble having this employer as your only source of
income. If you have a partner/spouse, I'd recommend this position. But
get ready to deal with literally TONS of freight if you're working in
Wal-Mart and have very little time to do it in. It is NOT worth it.
