The corporate culture at Guardian has changed dramatically over the
past several years. The benefits have been cut. The company Life
Insurance benefit which was 3 times your annual salary was cut in half.
Educational benefits were pretty much eliminated. The subsidized
company cafeteria is now barely subsidized and most people now go off
site for lunch. Working 60 hours a week is the norm and there is no
over time or comp time for salaried employees.
Management presents a false sense of gratitude, if any, for going the
extra mile. It's always, what have you done for me lately and no reward
for loyal dependable hard working employees.
Hard work will not get you anywhere here. It will only get you tired,
stressed, depressed and possibly an ulcer.
Anything that can, be is being pushed off shore to not always capable
and qualified consultants in India.
Sadly, Guardian has become very political and insensitive to its'
employees. The ruthless short term few that have managed to claw there
way to the upper (VP)levels of management are pulling down some decent
salaries and bonuses, but then, even they aren't safe. Guardian has
become a wobbly, unstable, unfriendly working environment where
everyone feels like they are walking a tight rope after only a few
hours sleep.
As you can imagine, this environment doesn't bring out the best in
people.
Guardian is not good or happy place to work these days. I would
recommend looking somewhere else given the choice.
