I feel that the overall business outlook is shaky. This is because I do
not feel that the present management is very professional. I also
believe that they do not have a clear set of goals to achieve and do not
appear to have the know how to achieve the goals if they did have any. I
know that they have never clearly stated any goals to the employees.
Morale is at an all time low and there is no confidence or trust in the
management.
Management has talked about a very vague set of goals called "HORIZON"
in which the company will become one of the top 10 most admired
companies to work for and they will enrich the lives of 40 million
americans. However, they have never specified any specific goals on how
they were planning to achieve them.
Guardian has outsourced a large amount of its business functions to
outside firms many of them offshore. It basically has an inadequate
amount of personnel to handle its current business let alone any
expansion. It lags behind its competitors in developing new products and
has become overly dependent on vendors to supply its business needs.
It is concentrating on attracting large number of agents to join the
company but has not poured any money into improving its antiquated
systems to service this new influx. I believe that many new agents will
become disenfranchised from the poor customer service and inadequate
support.
